What we are listening for

Garr Records is open to artists across a wide range of genres. We are especially interested in pop, hip-hop, R&B, rock, alternative, indie, country, electronic, and singer-songwriter music, but we are always looking for unique sounds that transcend categories. Above all, we value originality, strong songwriting, compelling performances, and artists with a clear vision and dedication to their craft. If the music is authentic and connects with people, we want to hear it. Founded by Joshua Easterling, Garr Records is particularly passionate about discovering and supporting local, unheard talent from Xenia, Ohio, and surrounding communities, giving emerging artists a platform to be heard, developed, and supported.

Qualities that excite us

A great demo does not have to be perfectly polished; it should showcase strong songwriting, memorable melodies, genuine emotion, and confidence in the artist's vision. Tips for a successful submission

To give your demo the best chance, be yourself and submit music that truly represents who you are as an artist. Choose your strongest 2–3 songs rather than everything you have recorded, and make sure the recordings are clear enough to showcase your voice, songwriting, and style. Include a short artist bio, links to your social media and streaming platforms, and tell us what inspires your music and where you see your career going. We value originality, passion, and dedication more than expensive production. Most importantly, submit work you are proud of—we are looking for artists with a unique vision and the drive to keep growing.
